Tiana's mother tries to coerce her to relax and go dancing. She puts a hand on Tiana's shoulder.Tiana: "I don't have time for dancing!" (Sings) "That's just going to have to wait a while."Mother: (Teasingly) "How long are we talking 'bout here?"
Tiana waltzes around the room and pulls out a chair for her mother to sit on. She pulls away the curtains to form a tablecloth, letting light into the room.Tiana: "I ain't got time for messing around... and it's not my style."
Mother: (Continues teasing) I want some grandkids!Tiana takes the picture of her dream restaurant out of her pocket, putting one arm on her mother's shoulder. They look at it together.
This shot reveals the picture they are looking at. Tiana and her mother compare the dreamy picture to the unfinished, old building.Tiana: "This old town can slow you down, people taking the easy way."
Tiana: "But I know exactly where I'm going, I'm getting closer and closer every day!"Tiana tilts her mother's chin to look at the building once again, encouraging her to picture it the way she does, as her new restaurant.
The old building suddenly transforms into Tiana's dream restaurant as Tiana begins to enter a fantasy. She begins to sing the song, "Almost There," proud of the progress she has currently made.
