This is part two of my Oregon Trail Storyboard Project. This shows day 3 and 4 of our simulation.
Day 3 - Part 1
Day 3 - Part 2
Day 3 - Part 3
As we were traveling on a normal day, tragedy struck our family. We had gone over a bumpy patch in the road and Noah, my brother's son and my nephew, fell out of the wagon. Before we could get the horse to stop, it was too late and Noah was gone. It was very hard to move on knowing that our little boy wasn't coming with us, but we managed to get up and keep going.
Day 4 - Part 2
These two slides should be switched.
After Noah passed away, we successfully caught some food while hunting and arrived at another river. We decided to play it safe again and take the ferry across. We paid $50 and made it safely to the other shore. Mostly everything was going smoothly along the Oregon Trail.
Day 4 - Part 1
After crossing the river we were met with another decision to make. There were a few different trails we could branch off from that point and we had to decide which one to take. Each trail had its pros and cons, but we eventually chose to follow the Salt Flats trail because it was semi-quick and not to dangerous.
Day 4 - Part 3
We are even farther along the Massacre trail and all of our food that isn't dried has spoiled because of the desert temperatures. We have hit a major bump in our journey and are very discouraged at this point. It takes everyone a lot of convincing to keep on going.
As we head along the Salt Flats trail we are forced to turn around because of the conditions. Then we follow the Massacre Trail into a desert region. Our water supply is near depleted and everyone is dehydrated and tired.
The winter months are fast approaching and we have come up to the Snow Pass. The decision we have to make is if we want to push through the winter and try our luck on the trail, or wait it out and camp there until spring, delaying our arrival to Oregon even more. We decided to try our luck and head straight through Snow Pass. The conditions are worse than we thought and we get trapped. This is when our journey comes to a stop and we all die. The End.
