- The storyline starts with the introduction of the characters P.T. Barnum and Charity. P.T grows up in poverty and deals with dreadful treatment, while Charity grows up with wealth. Her parents don't want her with him, but she takes a leap of faith for him anyway. They begin life in NYC.

- Barnum included people from different backgrounds and hardships to spread the message that it's ok to be yourself. Barnum wanted to make them exciting for who they are.
- Falling ActionFrom Now On
- Phillip comes from a wealthy, lifestyle, Anne comes from a life of poverty. Phillip wants to date Anne, she declined to avoid repercussions. The story takes place in the 1900s, I believe there would be a riot or more complex complications.
- ResolutionThe Greatest Show
- Charity shares that she loves Barnum, but is uncertain whether she should be will him or not. While Barnum is away, the circus is full of continuous problems. With the recent obsessive behavior of Barnum, rioters have more reason to demolish the circus.
- Barnum learned to not let fame get to his head. Now that he has resolved his mistake, he gets his crew back together.
- The story ends on a joyful note with everyone coming back together and Barnum giving Philip the circus. The creation of the circus is a home of diversity that can be a label for people who feel like their divergence is an obstacle.
