Hey can you teach me the five impacts that the Cold War had on Yemen.
Yes I sure can.
One of the first impacts was the Political Impact in South Yemen. The NLF defeated other political parties and named the country "People's Republic of South Yemen." Later then the Marxist NLF took power naming the country "People's Democratic Republic of Yemen."
That must have led to Yemen becoming a Yemeni Socialist Party and having close ties with the Soviet Union
Oh... that's why we see Yemen as one unified country today.
Another Impact that the cold war had on Yemen was the Reunification of North and South Yemen. It was in 1985 when relations between the U.S. and the Soviet Union effected Yemen in a positive way. North and South Yemen began meetings for unification. Then in 1990 North and South Yemen united together.
The third impact that the Cold War had on Yemen the Relations between North Yemen and the U.S. Throughout the Cold War North Yemen tried to keep a good relationship with the U.S. The U.S. even provided military equipment and economic assistance too North Yemen. The Relationship benefited both countries.
Wow, North Yemen was very fortunate.
I can't believe Yemen went through all this during the Cold War!
Another impact the Cold War had on Yemen was the North Yemen Civil War. In 1962 Egypt entered into a War in Yemen. Egypt entered the War supporting Revolutionary Republicans and Saudi Arabia entered the War supporting Royalists. The Soviets supported Egyptians and the War ended in 1970.
The final impact the Cold War had on Yemen was the Soviet Military Base. Port city of Aden hosted major Soviet Military Base. Yemen was used to facilitate Soviet Union military operations. Yemen played a big role in operations for the Soviet Union.
The Cold War effected Yemen in many ways. Thanks for teaching me about Yemen and the Cold War.
