This scene shows Virgil finally sticking up for himself from Chet. Chet has been bullying him for the longest time now, and he had enough. This shows my theme because Virgil finally found some of his voice to stick up for himself.
Hey, retardo! What you doing weirdo!
Don't you ever call me that ever again! You have been bullying me for a long time, and now i'm sick of it!
This scene shows that Virgil is sticking up to his mom and saying that he dose not like what she calls him, in this case is turtle. This shows my theme because when his mom would call him turtle it would eat him up inside, so he finally put his voice to use and stuck up for him self.
This dog is so dirty and the dog stinks!
Turtle! Get that dog out of here! He is dirty and he stinks!
I really don't like it when you call me turtle mom, you can either call me Virgil or Virgilo.
This text message is from Virgil!
This scene is from the perspective of Valencia getting a text message from Virgil. Virgil finally over came his fear of saying hi to Valencia. He came over his fear because he found his voice even though through out the book he thought he never had one but, once he did he used his voice in a powerful way.
