  • George Washington: Struggles to Stay Neutral
  • George Washington showed leadership while choosing his cabinet. For example on page 263, the text states"Washington chose leading political figures to head them. He picked Thomas Jefferson to head the State Department...He named Alexander Hamilton to manage the nation's money..." This shows that Washington chose a diversity of people he could rely on.
  • Washington showed leadership during struggles to stay neutral because he stopped the war between the Natives, Britain and George Washington's group. On pages 272 and 273, it says"President Washington issued the Proclamation of Neutrality, which prohibited Americans from fighting in the war." This evidence states that Washington wanted to sort things out between them.
