Polyphemus heard the sound of boats straining and oars dipping into the water, so he began to hurl rocks that what he heard, just barely missing the boat!
"Poor fool! Poor blinded, drunken, gluttonous fool! If anyone else asks you, it is not Nobody, but Ulysses who has done this to you!" cried Ulysses.
Ulysses would regret this fatal mistake though, for once he was gone, Polyphemus prayed to the God of the Sea, Poseidon, for revenge. Poseidon heard his prayer and was happy to help out.
