We use renewable resources to generate heat, electricity and many more. Do you know what is renewable resources?
Renewable resources are those resources that given time, will renew.
However, most of the U.S. electricity was generated from nonrenewable energy. Do you know how much electricity comes from renewable energy?
Renewable energy made up more than 17% of electricity generation in the U.S. Mostly from hydropower and wind power.
Did you know that the top 1 state who has the highest amount of renewable energy generated was Oregon?
Yes, I do! 45% of the energy generated in Oregon was from renewable energy. That is almost half!
You are right! Some other renewable energy includes soil, air, water, forests, and sunlight.
The main forms of renewable energy are biomass, wind, solar, and geothermal that uses energy from the earth.
Even though the amount is limited. Renewable energy is more cost- effective than non-renewable energy.
The amount of renewable resources we use are not limited because they can renew themselves. However, an interesting fact, nonrenewable resources are limited in use.
Renewable resources have already overtaken fossil fuels in many countries. Also, renewable resources would be less cost-competitive than nonrenewable resources.
As a result of the price, renewable energy will be the world's main power source by 2040.
