  • We use renewable resources to generate heat, electricity and many more. Do you know what is renewable resources?
  • Renewable resources are those resources that given time, will renew.
  • However, most of the U.S. electricity was generated from nonrenewable energy. Do you know how much electricity comes from renewable energy?
  • Renewable energy made up more than 17% of electricity generation in the U.S. Mostly from hydropower and wind power.
  • Did you know that the top 1 state who has the highest amount of renewable energy generated was Oregon?
  • Yes, I do! 45% of the energy generated in Oregon was from renewable energy. That is almost half!
  • Oregon 
  • You are right! Some other renewable energy includes soil, air, water, forests, and sunlight.
  • The main forms of renewable energy are biomass, wind, solar, and geothermal that uses energy from the earth.
  • Even though the amount is limited. Renewable energy is more cost- effective than non-renewable energy.
  • The amount of renewable resources we use are not limited because they can renew themselves. However, an interesting fact, nonrenewable resources are limited in use.
  • Renewable resources have already overtaken fossil fuels in many countries. Also, renewable resources would be less cost-competitive than nonrenewable resources.
  • As a result of the price, renewable energy will be the world's main power source by 2040.
