Hi, this comic strip will feature Alexander Hamilton Talking about the Quartering Act, the Townsend Act, and the Intolerable Acts
1765 - The Quartering Act
The Quartering Act was where colonists were forced to house, feed, and clothe British soldiers. People claimed paying for these soldiers was the same as paying large taxes only the soldiers took up space and did nothing.
Me and my mother are to poor to take care of a British soldier let alone take care of ourselfs.
1767 - Townshend Act
The Townshend Act was where the British put a tax on certain items imported from Britain. The colonists started a boycott. The boycott failed and Britain raised the price of the goods even more because they know colonists had no choice but to buy them.
Why are the prices higher than normal? Did the British add taxes?
The Intolerable Act Law #1 was where the British closed the Boston Harbor for trade. This meant they couldn't get new things to sell, which makes salesmen lose money.
1774 - Intolerable Act Law #1
What do you mean the Boston Harbor is closed for trade?
The Intolerable Act Law #2 was where KG III took away the self-governing democratic rights of the MA colony. These new, harsh laws pushed colonists into rebelling and it led the colonies to unite together.
1774 - Intolerable Act Law #2
That's ridiculous! We must spread the news to the other colonies!
The King is no longer allowing the state of Massachusetts to govern themselves
I hope you enjoyed this comic strip featuring Alexander Hamilton!
