Storyboard Text

  • The PWA does many different things for the public. So lets get into how the program started.
  • It all started during the Great Depression when people were not able to pay for rent or food and had to live on the streets or in cardboard boxes.
  • Then Franklin D. Roosevelt created the New Deal Program which included many programs and the PWA.
  • The PWA then provided jobs for the unemployed. The jobs that they provided where mainly construction related.
  • So the PWA helped many Americans get out of poverty during the Great Depression.
  • But the PWA was soon dissolved in the 1940's after the Great Depression and was never retrieved.
