Storyboard Text

  • It is all going to be alright Margret,. Your dad is a strong man and he is going to be alright.
  • Sweetheart, why are you crying?
  • Today, everyone was talking about how they missed their fathers and then Jack started talking about how his dad is dead and ours might be too.
  • Mom, can I please just have a little snack?
  • I am sorry Jhon but we have to ration and the only food that we can have is for our three meals a day.
  • Me too Billy, but he will be back before you know it. He is just being a brave soldier and fighting for us to keep us safe
  • I just miss dad so much!
  • It will be alright Lynn. The way that i keep myself going everyday is by telling myself that this is not the first war and and we will make it through this one just like our grandparents did.
  • What is the matter Lynn?
  • Raychel, it is this war. It has been so terrible on the family. All the kids are hungry, Billy misses his dad, Margret heard children talking about their father passing and now she is scared and in the mist of it all, I have to keep it all together for my children and go to work to keep the lights on and food on the table.
  • What did you all learn this time?
  • Families were impacted as well from the war. For example families ad to ration so they could not eat as much.
  • And, that people were sad and worried about their loved ones.
  • Mothers had a lot on their plate and it was hard for them to handle
  • So, to conclude, you all learned about how industry bonding together during the war was important and the affect WWII had on families in just that short amount of time. And, in my opinion, I would say that it seemed as if you all enjoyed obtaining this knowledge. And that is what my graphic novel will do for students in your classroom as well.  It will allow them to read quick, understandable, and enjoyable texts and learn from them without even realizing that they are being taught a lesson. Thank you for giving me your time and I really hope that you consider buying my book not only for the students to enjoy, but you as well.
