- Oh no! All our children are dying from diseases that are not yet curable. Now we have lost our children and extra help on the farm.
- That's too bad but at least we have a stable food source. Let's make some more kids in anticipation of some of them dying.

- Birth rates are still high!
- That means are kids are going to live longer and continue doing manual labour.
- Thats right honey. The Natural Increase rate is high as well!
- Thanks to industrial and medical revolutions life expectancy has risen.
- Stage 3
- The NIR is decreasing due to urbanization, contraceptives, and increased wages.
- The quality of education is getting better as well. There is also increased availability of skilled labour.
- Migration policies might be put into place.
- Stage 4
- The One Child Policy might be put into to place to limit growth of population.
- Oh I heard about that. Women are also having less babies because they are in the workforce.
- Life expectancy is high, Elderly dependency is higher and birth rates are lower than ever
- Yes, and women are getting paid maternity leave to encourage child birth,
