Siddhartha Gautama was born a prince in a kingdom in Nepal a country north of India. He lived with great wealth and was told of his two possible fortunes. His father was fond of one of those fortunes.
That meal was delicious.
You have gone against us. Leave now before I get the others.
The guards protect him from seeing any negativity or suffering. They tell old and sick people to move off the streets when Siddhartha leaves the palace. They never let him leave without guards.
One day Siddhartha sneaks out of the palace and leaves without guards. He sees the four passing sights. He discovers he had been lied to for his whole life and these sights change him forever.
Everyone has some desires but not too many.
Siddhartha decides to follow the gurus and soon leaves them because he does not believe in one true god (Brahman) and Atman. He joins the ascetics who live a life of self-denial from things like food and bathing. One day he is offered a real meal and he accepts, but the ascetics abandoned him for what he did.
After abandoned Siddhartha wants to find his own way through meditation. He decides to meditate under the Bodhi Tree which is also known as The Tree of Knowledge. He meditated for 49 days and he finally reached enlightenment. He became the Buddha or the enlightened one.
Siddhartha began to spread his religion of Buddhism. He returned to the ascetics who showed him no respect. He told them of the middle way with a way to have not to many or not to little desires.
