From April 29, 1946, to June 18, 1947, the Soviets invaded our wonderful country of Iran. They had refused to give up land gained in World War II in fear of losing power. The United States helped us to drive them away.
Then those stupid British halted our oil production from 1951 to 1953! All because Mohammad Mossadegh nationalized our oil, they did this in response to make us think we were "reliant on them."
Hey! Hold it!!!!
From 1954 to 1958 was a rough and confusing time period. After the end of the U.S/British Coup d'etat, there were many arrests of the communist Tudeh Party here in Iran. The U.S. wanted to influence us to oppose and prevent communism.
Finally, from January 1978 through February 1979, the brave and invincible Ayatollah Khomeini, a Muslim religious leader, led the revolution that overthrew that worthless Shah the those worthless Americans put in power and had good relations with. At this time, women's rights were severely restricted, and Ayatollah enforced Islam more strictly.
One of the last big impacts of the Cold War on Iran was the Iran Hostage Crisis. It was from November 4, 1979 to January 20,1981, where Muslim students invaded an American Embassy and held over 60 Americans hostage.
