  • the French and Indian war started with a land dispute in the Ohio river valley
  • Ya?! says who!?
  • We were here first
  • The indians became valuable allies and chose sides to fight the war. The Huron and Algonquin sided with the french because they treated them like equals where as the british came marching on their land and started to build fort and houses and the Iroquois sided with the british because of their low prices on furs.
  • An english commander named General Braddock was ordered to take over fort duquesne. The iroquois only sent eight guides to help them. They had too many supplies to haul all the way there. Provision were a problem as well as disease. Meanwhile, they were ambushed before they even got to fort duquesne. And General Braddock died fighting.
  • Benjamin Franklin created the Plan of Union which called for all the colonies to unite and make one big army but the colonies declined. Meanwhile the new prime minister of England spent much more money one the war shipping supplies and soldiers to the 13 colonies and eventually blockaded the ocean so the french couldn’t send anything over.
  • General Wolfe successfully invaded Quebec in the middle of the night following the trail of a woman doing laundry. This was followed by several other victories for the british. And a year later, capturing montreal.  
  • In 1783 the treaty of Paris was signed in Paris. THe treaty stated that most of the frenches land went to England. Only Louisiana went to spain.
