  • On February 12th, 1675, A large number of natives came into Lancaster upon sunrise, armed with hatchets and firearms.
  • Everyone! We're being attacked!
  • The natives began burning houses upon entry.
  • Please! God! They're burning our house!
  • The natives did not kill everyone however, they took some captive.
  • Where are you taking us!?
  • Lord! Please, what shall we do?
  • The natives then came upon Mary Rowlandson's home, where she, her baby, and her sister were.
  • And lord, let me die with them-
  • Mrs. Mary was shot in the side, and her baby in the bowels.Upon her sister seeing her son die, she was no sooner shot herself.
  • Afterwards, the natives took Mrs. Mary Rowlandson captive, and dragged her and many more along with them.
  • Come with us.
  • You'll kill me!
  • Not if you cooperate.
