My wife and I decided to bring one valuable, 2 blankets, utensils, firewood, a lantern, ammo, and a rifle.
We boarded in the spring to avoid intense heat for our animals, and ourselves.
WE MADE IT! Life in Oregon
The food took up most of the space in our wagon, We had 3 loaves of bread, a jar of coffee, some beans, corn, water, and fruits and veggies. We kept them all in cans or jars to slow down spoiling.
Of course, we had to cross a river. It was far too deep to ford, so we used some firewood to raft across the river.
Finally, we made it! But I expected more. There weren't any houses or clear land like they promised! So I was pretty disappointed, but my wife and I fell trees and gathered our belongings and built our new home.
