  • The Persians conquered Ionia
  • We are the Persian people and are conquering your land.
  • Athens decided to help the Ionians
  • Oh please help the Ionians, our home was conquered by the Persians.
  • Of course we shall send some ships to avenge the Ionian people.
  • The Athens lost to the Persians
  • Retreat!!!
  • In 545 BC the Persians conquered Ionia, and totally overthrew the Ionian people and there land.
  • The Persian King sent 600 ships to attack Greece
  • Onward to Greece!!!!
  • The Ionians were very desperate to overthrow the Persians so they can get their land back. They asked other close Ancient Greek city-states to help them.
  • Greece and the Persians went to war. The Persian war was a bloody and cruel war.
  • Athens went to go fight with the Persians for taking the Ionians land. But they lost the battle.
  • Greece won the Persian war!!
  • King Darius (the Persian king) wanted to punish Greece for trying to help the Ionians overpower the Persians. 
  • The Persians had 30,000 poor equipped soldiers and Greece had 6,000 well equipped soldiers.
  • Greece took down the Persians and only lost 192 soldiers because they had a well equipped army.
