  • France and Great Britain 
  • No American Trade! Since you will not follow our action war will be declared!
  • We Support Trade! It is war we will see who wins! 
  • Impressment
  • The Chesapeake
  • Great Britain and France where fighting a war because Britain does not beleave in American trade. This started a conflict called neutral wars.
  • The Embargo Act
  • We will no longer allow imports and exports from foreign countries!!!!!
  • British Naval Ships began stopping American Ships to search for suspected British deserters. British then forced deserters to be in the Navy and be imprisoned.
  • Broken Treaties
  • NEW LAND!!!!!!!!!!!
  • The British Caption Leapord stopped the American vessel off the Coast of Virginia. Leapord demanded to search the American ship for British, they refused and three crew members of the Chesapeake were shot.
  • War Hawks
  • This is their leader
  • This took place in December, 1807. This act banned imports and exports from foreign countries and Jefferson wanted to prevent other countries from using America as go betweens in travel.
  • The settlers were moving onto lands that were guaranteed to Native Americans by a treaty. Some Native Americans renewed their contracts with British agents and Tenskwatawa urged Native Americans to return to their ancients customs. (In the Ohio river valley)
  • The loudest voices came from a group of young republicans congress members and they are called War Hawks. Their leader is Henry Klay. The federalists in the Northeast remained strongly opposed to this idea.
