Storyboard Text

  • The French and Indian war started over a land dispute. This was was between the British Empire and the French Empire
  • The French and Indian War 1754-1763
  • The Sugar Act 1764
  • This act was passed to simply gain revenue from the colonists. It was also to get more power and really start enforcing the laws.
  • There will no be a tax on Sugar. The soldiers will be around to collect the money from you.
  • The Stamp Act 1765
  • The Stamp act was passed in March 1765. This was to show their authority and how they could just make laws whenever they wanted.
  • We will now also be taking a tax on stamps. Give the soldiers double what you normally do. Do not complain.
  • The Boston Massacre 1770
  • The Boston Massacre was a deadly riot that resulted in a lot of death. It was a fight between the American colonists and the British soldiers.
  • The Intolerable Acts were all passed after the Boston Tea Party. It was meant to punish the colonists.
  • The Intolerable Acts 1774
  • Because you all have decided to revolt we will now be collecting multiple more taxes. The soldiers will collect them and if you do not give it to them you will be punished.
  • Common Sense 1776
  • Common sense was an article published to try to persuade the colonists to seperate from the British.
  • Come on open your eyes. We are being used and abused it is time to leave the British and fight back. NOW!
