Scopes was found guilty and fined $100, but the Tennessee Supreme Court later upheld the constitutionality of the statute but overturned Scopes' conviction on a technicality. The court’s decision is agreeable as they were able to hear out Scope’s accordance for his actions however it’s still a law that he broke which resulted him in getting a fine.
