I was hoping to get some clarification on the evolution lesson today.
So Species Richness is the Number of species in a given sample and species evenness is how close each species is in an environment. However, I'm confused on most of the other vocabulary.
Generalists can eat pretty much anything and can live in a variety of places, but Specialists can only eat and live in specific things
With Speciation there is a genetic drift. Allopatric Speciation happens when two populations of the same species become isolated from each other due to geographic changes. Sympatric Speciation occurs when two groups of the same species live in the same geographic location, but they evolve differently. Both of these occur from Geographic change that could be Anthropogenic.
Thank you so much!
Then the Theory of Island Biogeography states that a larger island will have a greater number of species than a smaller island. The Bottle neck effect occurs when when a population's size is reduced for at least one generation and reduces a population's genetic variation These are the main things you should know hope this helped.
