- Whoa! When you hit me with that reflex hammer you hit me with made my knee jump!
- That is the nerves at work! When your body does something without you telling it to, that’s an autonomic nervous system! The autonomic system is just one out of three!
- The second nervous system is the peripheral system. The peripheral nervous system keeps your brain notified on what is happening with your body!
- An example of the peripheral nervous system is your nerves telling you if you are sitting or standing up.
- The final system is the central nervous system. The central nervous system is what gives you freedom to chose how to move your body. it is made up of your brain and spinal cord.
- An example of the central nervous system at work is you deciding to pick up a pencil. Have a nice day patient!
