Everyone here is going to do great, we will think of a great plan.
Hello everyone, we are the delegates for the constitutional congress.
So, what exactly are we doing here?
In "A Constitutional Convention Is Called" In 1786 the delegates of the constitutional congress, made new laws and changes, this lead to the amendment of the articles of confederation.
George Washington for President!
In " The Conventions Delegates" there was a total of 55 delegates working on the new government.
What should we name our plan?
How about the "Virginia Plan"?
In " The Delegates Assemble" most of the delegates arrived at the Constitutional Convention not knowing what to expect. Some thought that they would only draft the articles of confederation, and others thought they would design a plan for a whole new government.
What about the "New Jersey Plan"?
I like that idea, but I like the Virginia Plan better.
In "The Convention Begins" they all worked in secret, they even had guards outside the door. There first order of business was to elect a president, they choose George Washington.
In "The Virginia Plan", on May 29th they started working on the plan, their plan ended up being called The Virginia Plan.
In "The Great Compromise" William Paterson, from New Jersey then presented the New Jersey Plan. In the end the Virginia Plan ended up winning the vote.
