  • Great Britain had about 1/4 of the land and the population in their possession before the war.
  • Treaty of London:This states that Belgium is seen as a neutral state and will not fight in the war.
  • Germany ended up breaking the agreement by attacking France through Belgium. This upset Great Britain bringing them into the war.
  • During the WAR!
  • During the war, Britain incurred 136% of its gross national product in DEBT
  • People began to go on labor strikes since there was no money to pay them for their work.
  • End of the WAR!
  • Great Britain was the first to industrialize in the 1800s. This allowed them to have a strong economy.
  • One positive effect of the war is that now women were able to vote and gained other rights.
  • End of the WAR!
  • Now since Great Britain was allies with the U.S. we were giving them money and trading items to help us win the war. Now Great Britain is in debt and the U.S. is thriving.
