  • This is Gary Paulsen during the beginning of the  race. His dogs are pulling him in the race.  He also had a quote about humans and animals in his book. It says "The adventure  really begins in differences-the great differences between people and animals."
  • The Iditarod Race
  • During the race there are required amounts of resting times for the dogs. He really cares for his dogs, there is even a quote his book "Woodsong" he wrote saying "I wanted to know everything there was to know about dogs. 
  • The Iditarod Race
  • During the race, Paulsen had to stay at the homes of strangers quite often.
  • The Iditarod Race
  • Finish
  • The race gets really hard, so trying to make it easier Paulsen tied his arm to his sled. 
  • This ends up being a bad idea and Paulsen tears his knee, this is super hard for him. 
  • He ends up pulling through his injury, and he continues the race all until he is able to finish amazingly.
