  • The narrator states the year, 2081, and shares about the new society and how they use handicaps to make things fair and equal.
  • Falling Action
  • Hazel and George are watching the ballet when an announcement that Harrison Bergeron escaped from jail and is dangerous. Harrison Bergeron appears on stage and shouts, "I am the Emperor!" He takes his handicaps off and takes off other handicaps as well, including a ballerina. The ballerina likes having her handicaps off and dances with Harrison.
  • Resolution
  • The Handicap General, Diana Moon Glampers, goes on stage and loads her gun. As Harrison and the ballerina are dancing around, Diana shoots and kills them both for not putting their handicaps back on.
  • Diana reloads the gun and points it at the people whose handicaps got taken off by Harrison. She threatens to kill anyone who doesn't put their handicap back on in the next 10 seconds. After that is said everyone puts their handicaps back on.
  • The society went back to its normal and everyone wore their handicaps, including George and Hazel.
