- Columbus discovered the "New Lands" in the year 1492. He was supposed to find a quicker route to India, but he found the New Lands instead. This discovery influenced exploration in North America.
- Coronado
- Where is that city of gold?
- Cortez conquered the Aztecs in in the year 1521. He became the first "governor" in New Spain (Mexico). He inspired others to explore more parts of North America.
- Cabeza de Vaca
- Shipwrecked again?
- La Salle was lost. He was looking for the Mississippi River, but found TX instead. Claimed Texas for 2 years until his crew murdered him. The Spanish panicked, and started to actually settle in Texas.
- Pineda
- Coronado was looking for the city of gold, but found that there was no city of gold. He told tales about the "TX Panhandle".
- Cabeza de Vaca was looking for gold in FL. He got shipwrecked, so his crew built rafts. They got caught in a hurricane, and crashed into the Texas Gulf. He met the Karankawas, became the 1st surgion, and was the 1st Texas explorer.
- Pineda was the first to explore and map the Texas coast in the year 1519. He was supposed to find a route to the Pacific.
- Hmm... This coastline is very rugged.
