Hercules' 10th task was to steal the red cattle owned by the horrible three-bodied giant Geryon and guarded by the two-headed dog Orthus and the herdsman Eurytion.
Hercules sailed off to the island of Erythia, using a golden boat given to him from the Sun God, Helios, for his bravery.
When Hercules arrived at Erythia he quickly vanquished Orthus and Eurytion using his club. Then he shot the giant Geryon full of arrows, killing the monster.
After Hercules had gained the cattle two sons of Poseidon attempted to steal the cattle from Hercules. They were both killed, but while they were fighting a bull fell into the ocean and swam to Sicily.
The bull was found by a ruler named Eryx, another son of Poseidon and was put into his personal herd. Hercules had then left the rest of the cattle to the God, Hephaestus and began his search for the bull.
He found the bull in Eryx's herd and demanded it back. Eryx said he would give it back if he defeated him in wrestling. Hercules easily beat him and killed him. He then took the bull back joined the rest of the herd and brought the herd to Greece.
