- So what is digital footprint exactly again?
- Well thats a little bit harder to explain. But only because their are many reason why it’s important to know and learn about digital footprint.
- Sure! First lets go sit down.
- Wait, will you give some examples about why its so important because i can’t think of any.
- Wow! I’m already starting to understand more but why is it even important to know or learn about this?
- Reputation online…?
- Ohh! well then how do you start to build a positive reputation online?
- Jess: There are many reason on why you need to know about digital footprint. But the most important one is so that your aware of your reputation online
- Yes! Like previously stated once you’ve been online there is a digital footprint of your actions and activities left online. And depending on what they are they can leave a positive or negative online reputation .
- great! I’m really starting to understand know!
- If “you”were to post something inappropriate or offensive it wouldn’t only effect you online it also would in your personal life. For example like getting a job or getting accepted into school because like you stated earlier anyone can see this data because “you” left a footprint of it!
- Understand that everything you post is permanent and can be found even if deleted. Make sure to think about what your posting before it posted and if its appropriate .
- Don’t post anything that can be judgmental or offensive and always try to post things that are positive.
