St Ignatius was hit by a cannonball on may the 20th 1521 in the battle of Pamplona but because of his bravery the French helped St Ignatius back home to recover. This is important in St Ignatius's life because in his time of recovery he read one book about the life of Christ and the other was about tales of saints. These books are important because they made him want to become a saint.
St Ignatius becomes a solider on the 10th of November 1506. When he was young he dreamt off serving the Queen and being a knight. This is important because it caused him to get hit by the cannonball and was the first major step of his life.
St Ignatius met St Francis Xavier in 1525 at the University of Paris. At the start they didn't get on to well because their families had big rivalries. They also met St Peter Faber here. Gradually they got on and formed the society of Jesus. This is very important because they've formed schools all over this world and without them there would be a lot of people without schooling.
