  • There was a lady named Mrs.Jones and she was walking late at night and a boy tried to snatch her purse.

  • "You ought to be my son. I would teach you right from wrong."
  • In this short story Thank you, M'am, The theme of "If you want something you should ask for it, not take it from" is best devolped through the authors's use of character Roger.
  • " I want blue suede shoes."
  • The boy named Roger tried to steal Mrs. jones bag but the strap of the bag broke causing roger to fall on his back. This supports the theme because the boy snatched Mrs.jones purse out of her hand to get something he wants.
  • One day, Mrs. jones walking late at night when a boy named Roger tried to take Mrs.jones purse. While roger was trying to take the purse the strap broke causing him to fall backwards. Mrs.jones took Roger to her house to get a bit to eat and to wash his face because it was very dirty. Roger told Mrs.jones that the only reason he took her purse was to get some blue shoes that he wanted and Mrs.jones told him that's not the right way to take something. By Roger's mistake we readers know that you shouldn't steal to get what you want. Before Roger left Mrs.jone gave him $10 the shoes he wanted. For this reason Mrs jones character is important because she gave Roger the $10 to get the shoes that Roger wanted even though he tryed her take her purse.
  • Mrs. jones is explaining to Roger that if he was her son that she would teach him the right and wrong things to do. This supports the theme because roger tried to take her purse to get something he wanted and he didnt ask for it.
  • Roger is explaning that he took mrs.jones purse because he wanted shoes. This supports the theme because roger wanted the blue suede shoes so he tried to take Mrs.jones purse to get it.
  • " If you want something you should ask for it, not take it from others"
