Our economy is very rich due to the fact that our village is next to the Niger River so boats come with food and goods. The salt and gold trade did make us richer, but because North and West Africans speak different languages, we need a way to trade the slat for gold. That is how we came up with silent bartering, and we also tax traders to come into west African territories.
The salt and gold trade
Islam was a religon that we indculeds, but we didn’t follow most of its rules. Like they didn’t follow the pillars of the days, so they didn’t fast or stop whatever ever there doing and pray. However, they do go on the haje. The reason we don’t fast is that we need to work in the gold mines and do our own things.
Since the forests of the south are crowded with people and the north is barin and dry, we have decided to stay near our home which is a forest and make a village on an island in a river and the river is actually an important trade river known as the Niger River. When we went to our village loctite you meant an anthorn group of people that were heading out to the desert and then another one and again until we got to your place or village location lots of people have joined our group. Since many people didn’t know each other we didced that your village name would be Unknown Village.
Slavery affected your village by making work easier for our people. Getting food or harvesting salt is not a big task anymore. Though we do send some out to sea because some ships came and wanted to trade with us, they trade us iron, mirrors, knives, cloth, and beads for slaves. They can make good military forces.
Music and storytelling would contribute to your village, because then we then have a way to keep your history. Someone tells the story and another person plays music whllie the person says the story talks about their history. We could use music during our holidays and festivals.
