Hey! I have a question can you help me with an answer?
Yeah sure, what's the question?
I was thinking, How significant is the impact on people caused by deforestation in Brazil?
This is a question with not just one simple quick answer, what information do you have so far on the subject?
Well I know some statistics such as, The brazilian Amazon makes up for roughly 60% of the Amazon Rainforest
Also the Amazon Rainforest has the highest deforestation rate in the world. The deforestation rate is a loss of 5,405 trees per year.
Well as of 2017 209.3 million people live in the Amazon Rainforest and depend on its resources.
These are a good start for the rainforest but what about the people.
Some resources produced from trees are cellulose, paper, and a small amount of fuel. Rarely any trees are used for wood products
So we know there are a large amount of people depending on the Rainforest but what kind of resources do they depend on?
That is interesting that lumber and wood products are rarely produced. Now that we know what the resources and product are I think we can come to a conclusion that even if the impact isn't too large right now it will certainly affect peoples homes and lives in the future. For example people who live in the rainforests could lose their homes and people who have jobs in the forest could lose those as well, but in the big picture we will be losing a beautiful place that will be hard to replace.
