Mesopotamia is in modern day Iraq. Iraq is in Asia!
Hi! I live in Mesopotamia. Where I live has two main rivers. The Euphrates river and the Tigris River. These rivers helped us for water and growing plants.
We moved to the rolling hills. Then there were many problems. One was the population was increasing. So, we moved to Sumer.
Like my brother said, their were many problems. Another was an uncontrolled water supply. This was a problem because it would ruin the crops. We came up with two solutions. One was the farmers began creating irrigation systems and the other was they starts digging canals.
The canals needed to be cleaned because it would easily be clogged with silt. One clogged canal can disrupt the entire system. Gradually, villages had to depend on each other to build and maintain the system.
As Cities grew and interacted they fought over the right to use more water. Sometimes, people in cities located upriver to buid new canals, or block other canals.
In this you learned how to fix food shortages in the hills and Controlling a water supply. Now that is some history about Mesopotamia!
