What really happened during this case...?

Storyboard Text

  • “This is one of my last few days of presidency. I might as well add more justices of peace for the District of Columbia.”
  • “These commission papers by John Adams don’t seem like they were delivered. Secretary of state, James Madison, don’t deliver these commission papers”
  • Okay, sir. Will do.
  • “William Marbury, you aren’t the justice of peace since your commission papers were not delivered since i’m in office now”
  • ”This is not fair. I was promised the job of justice of peace on the commission paper. I will see you in the supreme court, Jefferson”
  • “I will proceed to write a writ of mandamus, with this Supreme Justice John Marshall will understand and will take action.
  • “Jefferson is denying me my job as Justice of peace even though the commission Papers were signed”
  • “What seems to be the problem here?”
  • “Mr. Marbury, I cannot take action on this dispute because the constitution does not give me power to resolve this case, so Thomas Jefferson has the power to appoint whoever he wants”
