  • Bloody Sunday was a protest in St. Petersburg Russia on Jan 22, 1905 that turned violent after forces came to the scene. This protest killed and wounded hundreds.
  • On March 15, 1917 Czar Nicholas II stepped down from the Russian throne.
  • Shortly after Lenin came into power in 1921. Vladimir Lenin was a communist dictator for the Soviet Union.
  • During Civil in Russia, the whites tried to overthrow the Bolsheviks. The Trotsky formed highly disciplined Red Army of Bolsheviks, Whites lost to the better-organized Red Army.
  • The Red Terror officially began in September 1918, following attempts on the lives of several Bolshevik leaders including Lenin.
  • After Lenin died, new Russian leader Joseph Stalin came into power.
