The Indian Removal Act took place in 1830 and forced Indians off their territory, starting the trail of tears.
Soldiers telling Indians to move it or lose it.
Indians suffered through cold temperatures, wild animals, and had to go in a certain amount of days. Making this trail deadly.
The government did not stop it, if anything, enforced it!
The trail of tears movement.
About 3,000 Native Americans died on the trail of tears when moving to new territory.
Most casualties were avoided but in the end, they made it and got to their new home and the recourses were just as good.
In the end, I don't think they liked it at all...
