Storyboard Text

  • The Indian Removal Act took place in 1830 and forced Indians off their territory, starting the trail of tears.
  • Soldiers telling Indians to move it or lose it.
  • Indians suffered through cold temperatures, wild animals, and had to go in a certain amount of days. Making this trail deadly.
  • The government did not stop it, if anything, enforced it!
  • Mississippi River
  • The trail of tears movement.
  • About 3,000 Native Americans died on the trail of tears when moving to new territory.
  • Most casualties were avoided but in the end, they made it and got to their new home and the recourses were just as good.
  • In the end, I don't think they liked it at all...
