The First Estate consisted of many nobles and clergy that lived in great luxury. The clergy collected a tax from peasants.
Nobles had almost complete authoraty over pesants, and they did not have to do millitary work. Nobles collected tolls from people using certin roads and they were also exempt from most taxes.
The Third Estate was 90% of the population, and were forced to do millitary service. Pesents had to pay taxes to theit lord, their king, and the church. Theyalso had to use the Lord's mill, oven, and wine press, and pay for them.
