My Multiple Intelligence By: Arshdeep Singh February 13, 2019
Intelligence is not just numbers and percentages, it should tell you a lot more about yourself. Hello, My name is Arshdeep Singh and I will be discussing Multiple Intelligence. Created by Howard Gardner, the theory of multiple intelligences suggests that one's intellect should not be measured through traditional methods (Standardized tests and IQ tests), but rather through nine different categories in order to be fair to different learners. Based off of my results in a quiz I was able to learn that my top three intelligences are Logical/Mathematical (75%), Visual/Spatial (66%), and Intrapersonal (60%). In this comic, I will explain how they apply to my life and my possible future occupations.
Having a Logical/Mathematical intelligence refers to individuals that have the ability to analyze problems logically, with reasoning, numbers, and critical thinking. This intelligence is evident in my everyday life at school. Last semester during Math and this semester during Science, I have used my reasoning and critical thinking to solve word problems in quadratics, and questions regarding the cell cycle in Science. In doing so I have been successful within both of these courses and it is apparent through my marks.
Top Intelligence: Logical/Mathematical
Having a Visual/Spatial intelligence refers to individuals that have the ability to visualize and use spatial judgement to create. I have this intelligence and it is displayed through my work in Visual Arts. Last year during our Art exam we were expected to create a four piece panel based off of something we like. Through visualization and spatial judgement I was successful in creating a art piece in which I got 100% grade.
2nd Intelligence: Visual/Spatial
Having a Intrapersonal intelligence refers to individuals that have the ability to appreciate themselves in terms of their feelings, fears, and motivations. This intelligence is evident in my life because I often think to myself regarding these three questions, and have pretty good understanding of what each of them mean to me. I have also shown signs of this intelligence through various self reflections tasks. Through these reflections I was able to appreciate and get a better understanding of myself.
What am I afraid of?
What do I want to be when I grow up?
3rd Intelligence: Intrapersonal
How do I feel about myself?
A possible occupation I can pursue in the future is a Scientist. A scientist takes on the role of researching and further developing knowledge in an area of interest. This occupation also brings out my strongest intelligence which is Logical/Mathematical. Using my reasoning and critical thinking I believe I can do very well within this profession. I also have a love for both Math and Science and for this reason I believe this is definitely a suitable occupation for me.
