The characters in book 11 are Odysseus, Tiresias, Erebus, Elpenor, and Anticlea. They are in the land of the dead, because Circe tells Odysseus to go there before he can go home. Tiresias, Erebus, Elpenor and Anticlea are ghosts and they are taking to Odysseus.
The conflict is when Odysseus talks to the shade of his mother. She tells him that Penelope and Telemachus are still grieving; His father has moved to the country where me mourns his son and that herself has died from a broken heart.
The resolution is that Odysseus and his crew set sail leaving the land of the dead. They are able to leave because Odysseus has completed what Circe sent him there to do.
