  • The organisms that help survive in the given environment is called adaptation. The mutations or random changes in organisms gene help the animals survive.
  • Overpopulation and the Struggle to survive

  • Flat tailed lizard is a mutation in the Mitochondria DNA. Belong to an ancestral  population with more genetic variation. 
  • Changes in the Gene Pool
  • Females lay eggs once a year from September to December. They lay up to 10 eggs but only 3-7 eggs survive. The eggs are a leathery shells to protect and prevent from drying out and dying.
  • Some run really with toe fringed and spiny scales. Some bury burrow into the sand to escape desert heat and predators.
  • The 2 gene pool in the Thorny devil is brown, yellow, and tan, this mutation bury in burrow to hide . The 2nd color is white, black, yellow, and tan. This lizard shows off it's running skills to get the females.
