  • Hi, honey! How was your class trip today?
  • It was really fun!
  • I saw a shoal of fish attending the class trip to the aquarium.
  • You saw what?
  • What do you mean? I was the one attending the class trip.
  • Im pretty sure fish do not attend class trips.
  • I did construct it properly.
  • You should construct your sentences properly for people to understand.
  • No you did not. Your sentence had a misplaced modifier.
  • What is a misplaced modifier?
  • Oh I see. I think i get it now.
  • A misplaced modifier is when the modifier is separated from the thing it is supposed to modify. It causes sentences to sound confusing.
