"And then he was a shrieking blaze, a jumping, sprawling gibbering mannikin, no longer human or known..."
After Montag burns his house, in a fit of rage he decides to burn Beatty alive.
After Montag escapes from the city by going down-river, he gets up and hits something with his foot, and it turns out to be the railroad track.
"Hos foot hit something that rang dully. He moved his hand to the ground, a yard this way, a yard that. The railroad track."
"And on either side of the river was there a tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month; And the leaves of the tree were for the healthy of the nations."
As the group walks towards the bombed and destroyed city, Montag thinks of a quote from the Bible to give him hope for the future.
