  • The role of the government is to make good laws that are able to protect the rights of people and enforce them to the public. I agree with Hobbes that a government is based on the social contract between individuals in a community.
  • What is the purpose of government and why is it needed?
  • I believe that no one has the right to be governed by and no one has the right to govern over someone else except when consent is given.
  • Who should be in charge?
  • Government is to protect the people’s rights and put out reasonable laws, and to protect the citizen’s private property, keep the peace, secure public commodities (economic goods) for people as much as possible, keep citizens from foreign invasions (war).
  • What role does government play in daily life?
  • The benefits of this chosen system is that the system made people have more rights. The system made things more organized. People can have freedom, but there must be laws to make things organized.
  • What are the benefits of this chosen system?
