  • After Britain won the Seven Years' War and gained land in North America, it issued the Royal Proclamation of 1763, which prohibited American colonists from settling west of Appalachia. 
  • We fought and won a war, and won a bunch of land but.... you can't go on it. Sorry!
  • WHATTTTT!!!
  • The Stamp and Sugar Act was passed by Parliament in 1765 to raise money from the colonies. Since it seemed only fair that they should pay part of the cost of their own defense.

  • The Townshend Acts were a series of British Acts of Parliament passed during 1767 and 1768 and relating to the British in North America. The colonists revolted these taxes.
