  • At the beginning the Highwayman came riding, riding, riding.
  • "Over the cobbles he clattered and clashed in the dark inn."-Alliteration
  • The Highwayman saw the landlord's daughter and was suprised.
  • "I'm after my prize tonight, But i'll shall be back with the yellow gold before the morning light." - rhyme
  • King George left and let Bess alone to get the gold.
  • "The two of them knelt at her casement , with muskets at their side. For all Bess could see through her casement, the road he would ride. -Rhyme
  • Bess dies all alone on the floor.
  • till, now, on the stroke of midnight, cold, on the stroke of midnight. The trigger at least was hers!- repetition
  • King George's men watched her die
  • Tlot-tlot , in the echoing night! Nearer he came and nearer. Her face was like a light. ~ Onomatopeia & rhyme
  • The landlord's daughter, had watched for her love in the moonlight, and died in the darkness there.
