  • "It was a large garden only half cultivated with bushes as big as summerhouses of Marshal Neil roses, lime and orange trees, and clumps of bamboo... "He bit indeed, but did not bite long enough; he jumped clear of the whisking tail, leaving Nagina torn and angry.

  • The setting  of the garden helped us find the theme because this is were Rikki was loyal by protecting Teddy and the family from Karait and Nag.

  • This story was about Rikki fighting snakes and protecting the family. He killed the snakes in the end. The conflict helped us find the theme because this was when Rikki was loyal to the family by killing all the snakes.
  • Rikki helped support the theme because he was loyal to the family by killing the snakes and protecting the family.  The family was loyal to Rikki by feeding and housing him.
  • The conflict helped us find the theme because Rikki put his life in danger to save Teddy and he stayed loyal to the family by killing Nagina.
