In the story Thank You M'am a young boy tries to steal from a lady and he fails. Then she trys to help him out
Doing The Right Thing
It's always good to do the right thing then do the wrong thing
In Mrs. Jones House
"When she got to her door she dragged the boy inside".
Thank You, M'am
Roger could've escaped the apartment. "The door was wide open". But Roger decided he didn't want to escape after what she did for him.
Doing the right thing is not always easy it's not always popular but isn't it enough that its right. -
Roger had stolen from Mrs.Jones
" When a boy ran up behind her and tried to steal her purse".
I'm going to snatch her purse
The setting helped the theme because Mrs.Jones took him in and taught him things instead of bringing him into the police
I think that the characters identified it the most because it shows Roger how to do the right thing. To change his old personality. But by the end he manages to change his ways.
Roger helped support the theme because he did wrong at the beginning of the story by stealing from Mrs.Bates but by the end, she changes his mind and wants to do good.
The boy tries to steal Mrs.Jones purse and tried to steal from her but by the end of the story he's changed because he asks "Do you need somebody to go the store for you, "maybe to get some milk or something"
