Storyboard Text

  • My dear farmer. If I were young and naive, all your promises would've compelled me immediately to live with you. However, I am neither young nor naive and I know what your promises actually are: falsehoods! Falsehoods that will be abandoned as soon as morning turns into afternoon, and afternoon turns into night.
  • What? This cannot be! I told her all of the lovely things she will experience if she lives with me and she thinks they are untrue?! Oh no, what shall I do?
  • You say that we will sit on rocks by the river and watch shepherds feed their flocks. But rocks grow hard, flocks will scamper away, and rivers will rage. This promise is temporary!
  • You say that you will make me beautiful clothes out of flowers and put roses on our bed. But flowers and roses will rot. This promise is temporary!
  • Finally, you say that our summer months will be brilliant and we will watch the shepherds' swains dance and sing. But summer months never last and come winter, this promise will be rendered absolutely, positively temporary!
  • Oh Heavens! She has deemed each and everyone of my promises as fleeting falsehoods! The lovely life I want her to live with me is anything but in her mind. I cannot believe that this has happened! Oh woes me!
  • I am not young and naive, so your promises have little effect on me dear farmer. However, I do believe in love and if our love is strong and true, then I might be able to endure your mislabeled "delights". Do your best to try and win my love, and you might have a fair maiden to live with you yet!
  • Oh thank God! After all these accusations she has hurled my way, there is still a chance she might live with me! Starting now, I will do everything in my power to win her love!
  • The first thing I'll do is make her a cap of flowers!
